Legal Basis

Honorable Celso J. Palma, Batasang Pambansa Assemblyman for Region IX passed the Parliamentary Bill No. 128 held in Quezon City, Metropolitan Manila on July 26, 1982. On April 8, 1983, the Tawi-Tawi Regional Agricultural College was created through Batas Pambansa (BP) 384 entitle “An Act converting the Sulu National Regional Agricultural School in the Municipality of Bongao, Province of Tawi-Tawi, into a College to be known as the Tawi-Tawi Regional Agricultural College, and Authorizing the Appropriation of Funds Therefore”.

Section 2 of BP stipulates that the College is authorized to offer the following collegiate and graduate courses:

(a) Four-year teacher education courses leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education and Bachelor of Science in Home Technology;

(b) Four-year technical curriculum leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture;

(c) Graduate course leading to the degree of Master of Science in Agricultural Education;

(d) Graduate course leading to the degree of Master of Science in Home Technology; and

(e) Graduate course leading to the degree of Master of Science in Agriculture.

Further, Section 3 states that the aim of the College shall be to provide professional, technical, and special training and promote research, extension services, and progressive leadership in the field of agriculture and home technology.


Vision

The college is envisioned to become the center of excellence in the field of agriculture and allied disciplines in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao or in a Bangsa Moro Community.


Mission

The aim of the college shall be to provide professional, technical and special training and promote research, extension services, and progressive leadership in the field of agriculture, home technology, allied disciplines, and technology education.


Goals

  1. Providing relevant and quality education in the field of agriculture, technology and vocational related field;

  2. Coming up with high relevant and quality research outputs that are used as catalyst to increase agricultural productivity;

  3. Disseminating technological knowledge, skills, concepts, and values that are essential requirement to make local farmers become more productive in their farming activities; and

  4. Producing volumes of agricultural and wood products, processing the same and distribute them to customers through local market and social marketing.


Mandates

The college is mandated to perform effectively and efficiently the four-fold thrust, namely; Instruction, Research, Extension Service and Production with emphasis in the field of agriculture, allied disciplines and technology education. To effectively comply these mandates, this faculty manual will be pursued with its legal basis and foundations that are anchored on the revised Policies on Performance Evaluation System enunciated under the CSC Resolution No. 991, 792, CSC MC No. 13, s. 1999, the Revised Rules and Regulations on Appointment of 2017, NBC 461 Guidelines and QCE Instrument, and R.A. 8291, the Tawi-Tawi Regional Agricultural College, hereby make the faculty members more responsive to the changing time and in adopting more technology.
